Why are some email links are not opening when I click them? [R.O.B.E.R.T. blocking]

There is a good chance the reason you are unable to open links in your email is because of the R.O.B.E.R.T. filters you have enabled.

The way you can try to solve this is:

  • Disable all filters and try the link again, the filter list can be found here: https://windscribe.com/myaccount#robert
  • If the link works, Enable the filters one by one until the link gets blocked again. This way you will know which filter is the one blocking the link.

In most cases, links found in emails or newsletters are blocked by the Ads + Trackers blocker, as they're generally filtered through tracking agencies (like googleadservices, etc) to determine the success of those campaigns or because they're hosting the ads themselves.

You can also perform a R.O.B.E.R.T. debug to determine which exact domain is causing the issue and then whitelist said domain, to keep all your blockers active. The steps for this can be found here: https://windscribe.com/knowledge-base/articles/robert-debugging-for-faulty-sites-and-services
